I Believe

Today I received junk mail from a relative that is always forwarding videos and jokes mixed in with pictures of her grandson and other family updates. The trick to this is that I always have to read her e-mails so I don't miss anything good. Today I got an inspirational message. Each belief below was written over a photo of a baby. Babies don't belong on my blog but for me the same effect is found through trees. I chose this tree because I feel it reflects me... a little.




I Believe... That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe... That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe... That just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

I Believe... That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I Believe... That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe... That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe... That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe... That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe... That it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe... That no matter how bad your heart is broken, the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe... That the people you care about most in life are taken from you much too soon.

I Believe... That life is more precious than money will ever be.


I must say that some of these statements don't make complete sense to me and possibly need more clarification but then again, that isn't the point. I hope by sharing this that someone else will use it the way I did and at least think about a situation in their life where these simple words might help. Or maybe you will just enjoy an interesting tree photo.

A revolution

A post card on PostSecret hit home... once again. Something always does I suppose and that is why I love checking the site every week. This week I saw a card about the possibility of a peaceful revolution.


This popped out at me because it is something I have been pondering a lot lately. Is it possible? If enough people stand up will it work? Originally there were two e-mail responses posted but they have since been removed. I'm reposting:

Oh Jerry.....

Quick post today.

I read here that Jerry Lewis made an anti-gay slur during the 18th hour of his annual telethon for Muscular Dystrophy. Everybody got upset and started yelling at the poor guy. COME ON PEOPLE! I don't think he meant it like that. He is 80 something and you know the love of my life Dino was giving it to him back in the day when they first got together. Hell, he wrote the book Dean & Me (a true love story). I think he was so overcome with emotion and exhaustion that he was thinking back on the good old days. I know I would!

Four Years... Four F'n Years...

Can you guess what I am talking about? Today marks my 4th anniversary of the day I sold my soul to corporate america. I told some of my coworkers and they just stare at me with pity. Wow. I'm scared of what this means for me and my future. I'm only 24 years old you know. What in the hell am I doing? Can someone please explain to me how to collect unemployment? Just in case I get fired?

Just wanted to throw out a few quick things before I head to the hometown for the weekend.

Number 1) Good news! France is just as slow as we are! View Proof Here

Number 2) Bad news. Wickipedia is too liberal for the crazies so they made their own. Try getting your information at Convservapedia. Complete with Bible verse on the home page. I was told to try looking up homosexuality.... scary.

Number 3) Had another voice lesson last night and I already feel everything I used to know coming back. It wasn't completely gone, just hiding from me. Thank Jebus!!

Number 4) I would really like some brunch soon, anyone? Sure, Sunday brunch might conflict a bit with the 11am airing of new Rock of Love episodes but I can probably wait until the eve to view it. Maybe not.

First piece of news I read today.
We are number one! Great job America! Everybody has a gun but one in five can't even find where they live on a map. Don't get me wrong, I believe in the right to bare arms and that is mostly because I don't trust the government, but what percentage of Americans have some sort of psychological issue? Maybe we should work on the rules a little more before we start jumping up and down with pride that we have enough guns to fill every grade school in the nation.
I feel so safe.
