Pink Month!
October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. I want to ask all you lovely readers to look out for yourselves and the ladies in your lives. Early detection is important so make sure you get your exams and stay on top of it. An easy way to remember is with an Early Detection Plan. Go sign up and they will inform you via phone, rss reader, text, or e-mail, whenever your next appointment should be and what you should do next. It's that easy! Go ahead and do it. I'll wait here.

Way to go Knight! Thank you for posting this.
I just don't know how to perform an exam and feel really weird poking around like that... how to tell the normal lumpy bits from the abnormal ones? :-/
Thank you so much for posting this. I of course got the now-natural-to-me nervous panic feeling when I read this. You know.
This message is just so important.
Oh. Not to be outlandish? But, if you are married. And, your DH goes there? Make sure he's aware if he "discovers" anything different.
Or, if you aren't married and have a significant other? He/She might know the territory too.
It's hard to be all feelie and all -- all by our lonesomes.
The important thing is -- everyone is aware!
Happy Feelin', I mean Friday! LOL!
Reb- Thank YOU for reminding me!
Technodoll- I know exactly what you mean. I asked my nurse/boyfriend and my dr. The link above has a page that shows you what to do and they way I understand it is that an actual lump will stand out as something harder that can't be pushed around like the normal lumpy bits.
Darla- I know. Are you signed up to get the "It's been a month so feel your boobs!" reminder? If I didn't have it I wouldn't remember to do it.
Farmer*swife- You are right on. It is more likely someone that spends more time giving attention to that area could notice something different. Just make sure they know to tell you!
If you need any assisatance with this, all you have to do is ask. It's ok, I am a liscenced medical profession. I have been through extensive training on how to feel the boobies.
TLJ- I have to ask?
"Feel Your Boobies!"
And video tape it! LOL ;-)
right, got it, it is every guys duty to feel some boobies
The breasts I have felt were like bags of sand.
Sorry. That dude in the YouTube video from Superbad reminded me of the 40 Year Old Virgin.
Thanks for your thoughtful posts!
I'm always more than willing to do booby checks.
Nipple. Love the labels!
What's a shape shifter? Come visit me on my blog X
I give free exams.

She's suffering from her second mastectomy... they had to take more though, like chest wall and lung.
Good for you, Knight!
October is also my reminder to make that annual appointment...
Nothing like being in the over-40 club and getting squoooshed by a machine. (Actually, my last one wasn't that bad...but I was friends with the technician, so we were chatting between "takes")
Good post. My 83-year-old grandma had a mastectomy last year. She'd love to preach to you all about early detection.
I knew I wouldn't be the first volunteer around these parts...
YESSSS! this is soooooo important.. Men and Women listen up..get your boobs checked!!!!
A matter close to my heart!
Thanks Sis!
i'd like to go on the record as being pro-boobies
I'm going in November! But I feel 'em up all the time just to be sure! ;)
It's kinda cool being a lesbian.
Jay- Lead by example and advertising, right?
Gary- Exactly! And make sure you are thorough.
Michael Knight Rambo- Like sand? That was a good line.
BBC- I knew you would be willing to participate in a good cause.
GMEyster- I didn't want to make a new one. It fit.
Butch Boo- Uh.. nothing?
Mike- That sounds very scary. I can't even imagine.
Kcinnova- I hear such bad stories. Is it worse than the dentist? Will they make me remove my piercing?
Inarticulate Fumblings- You're Back! That must be a very dangerous surgery for an 83 year old.
LL- Never in blog land. Lots of helping hands.
Ne- Close to all ladies hearts. Literally.
Furiousball- I appreciate your approval.
RLL- I'm glad you are consistent with you boob checking. And you have help!
Hey, I started posting about the kinetic races, it's all a ball.
My gal just had her titty smash last friday.
It's on my to-do list. My SIL died in July from breast cancer reoccurrance. Not to be a downer but she did find it early, it was just aggressive.
i've been stalking you too, via emails and text. hope everything is ok...
I had meant to make an Octbooberfest post on the first but got too busy and spaced on it. Last year I had a "Buck-a-boob" picture donation campaign for Susan G. Komen. I only raised 25 bucks, but I'd hope to do more this year. This year I'll be supporting the NBCAM organization. Keep up the good work.
