Yes We Did

It's an incredible moment in time and I'm proud to be an American.

As an addendum, yes I am proud that America has elected a black president.

I guess that makes me racist according to my definition above.

Perhaps now we can all move on and eliminate any prejudgments based on race, religion, colour, and creed, as this hurdle was finally cleared.

I think Mike's been eating my pessimism candy! *giggle*

It's going to be an interesting four years, that's for sure.

You should be proud! Voters came out in record numbers and you elected the correct man to get you all out of the mess the last one put you in.

From this side of the border, things are looking good down there.

I have had so many emotions, but I have to say, I BLUBBERED last night when I first saw the announcement.

At this time, I am filled with HOPE. There is a lot of work to do, and I am fearful that people's "quick remedy" expectations are too high for the massive mess that this new administration has to deal with, but I am HOPEFUL. And I haven't felt that way in quite some time about our country.

That, and it is apparent how much he loves his partner. THAT is something awesome to see in a President too, eh?

He looks so YOUNG in that photograph! With youthfulness comes hope, and I've noted today that most of the world is excited about this CHANGE.

Now if Congress would only learn to WORK!!

And as much as he reminds me of JFK, I reallyreallyreallyreally want the similarities to stop now. I don't like the rest of Jack's story. (Since I don't want to give the power of words to it, I'll reference back up to Mike at the top of the comments.)

I also feel very proud. Proud of the turn out. Proud of the outcome. Proud of McCain's speech last eve. Proud of Obama's. Proud that the US has elected the first minority president. I haven't felt 'proud' of this country in a VERY long time. The closest thing I can relate it to is the way we as Americans felt the first few months after 9/11. We came together as a people then and we will now. Truly amazing. I feel great. See ya tonight.

Well, I don't agree with the outcome of the election, but I am ALWAYS proud to be an American. I was proud yesterday and I will be proud for the next 4 years.

I'm very happy about the outcome of the election. And I'm very hopeful for the next four years. Not that I think everything is going to be all sunshine, rainbows and lollipops, but that there is at least a chance that we can make progress on some important issues. Hopefully without going too far.

Okay, so I'm cautiously optimistic.

Sorry Real Live Lesbian.

Actually, I'm not.

I know where those KKK dipshits come from, and it ain't manhatten.

So how about:

Do something about those KKK dipshits in the south.

About you being insulted? Well, too bad for you, isn't it ;)

Ok Mike, glad you're not! And you'd best be worried about dipshits all over the world threatening our president.

That's really what scares me most. What will happen to our country if someone does that. It is more frightening than anything I can think of.

Hummmmm.I've always been proud to be an American. Even when we've had dipshits in the White House....it's still the best place on earth. However...I am a bit more optomistic with Obama at the helm. What a presence he is to the world...not just to us...to the world. THAT is the accomplishment I think. Perhaps we won't be thought of as ....asshats?
How'd your Halloween turn out? Fabulous I'm sure!
Have a sunny weekend gal!

Yeah, I stopped back by to find out about your Halloween, too! So, how'd it go? Inquiring minds...
