44th Prez in the House

Today at 11:54pm EST I walked with a couple coworkers into our conference room to watch the Inauguration of President Barack Obama on a projector set up by our IT department.

I watched Aretha Franklin sing out in a bizarre but appropriately distracting hat while Cheney was wheeled around. I listened while vice president Joe Biden skipped over a couple pieces in his excitement and possible confusion. I attempted to decipher a poem that was possibly incredible but I couldn't get past the fact that it sounded like a reading lesson. I will blame that on nerves. Most importantly I watched a man that appeared so in shock by the momentous occasion he actually stumbled over most of the words. I was smiling for him. A real person. Our president.

It's about time.

Now let's hose out the house and see if maybe we can work on a few things.

Sick Of It

I'm getting tired. I feel like all the political talk just brings out the bad in people and we are finding out what sets us apart more than what brings us together. It is too bad that it ends up that way. We are missing a huge learning opportunity by battling over slander and smear campaigns. We are missing the point. Can't we just focus on challenges, opportunities, and the things that are important? I guess we can't. That breaks my heart more than anything.

I have been reading all the usual blogs that I stalk. I just have not done a whole lot of commenting. Maybe if something inspiring finds its way into my brain I will be able to play in blog land again. Until then...

What's Goin' On

I skated to Central Park yesterday to hang out and get some sun. I only got about ten blocks and thought I was going to pass out. How could I be so out of shape? I didn't realize how humid it was so I had to sit down and get water in my system. Turns out most people had the sense not to go to the park on such a gross day. I didn't get any tan lines but I left covered in sweat and ready for a nap. Isn't it autumn?

I'm working on a Holiday show with my friend Ava. Previously referred to as A. We went to that music and dramatic school together about seven years ago and then lived together for four years. We have worked on doing a show several times before and never actually performed it. This time I'm really booking the show and if she bails I will just do it by myself. I'm not sure how to pull off the duets but I'll figure it out. The set list is together and I'm excited to get this thing going. We know each other very well and we are a lot alike so it's easy to write. Hopefully everything will go as planned and I can write more about it later on.

No, I have not watched any football.

I'm really sick of/from Politics.

New Prez Candidate!

Old man McCain made an ad accusing Obama of being a celebrity. I'm sure you all saw it. It was the sexy one with Britney and Paris. (No, I do not find any of the people previously mentioned sexy. Come on people.) Today I found out there will be a new candidate in the race and I have decided to vote for her.

Swift-Boating

These ads are hilarious.

This is clearly supposed to be a joke making fun of how infantile the swift-boating is and other ad campaigns. The best part, of course, is the comments posted on the article linked above. Things like "Thank God some of our kids are not brainwashed by the Liberal left." and "These kids need to keep their mouths shut and worry about Sponge bob. They know nothing about politics." Granted, I fixed some of the grammar and spelling. I just can't believe people think these kids are really taking a stance. They are little actors. They know it's a joke. You really think all those kids believe Hillary Clinton is actually a man? Wow. The general public shocks me with it's idiocy in new ways every day.

Politcal Garbage

This "woman" upsets me so much with the unbelievable bullshit she spreads around the country. I honestly think she is evil incarnate. Who is paying, sponsering, and/or supporting this beast? I feel sick.
