Liquid Break

Today is day one.

I've decided to stop consuming alcohol for a little while.
Why would you do such a thing? One might ask. Well, for several reasons.  First of all, I'm not feeling all that great and I think considering my health over social acceptance would be the obviously responsible thing to do.  I can't imagine removing alcohol from my system for a couple weeks will harm me. Although, I've been wrong before. Plus, I want to do a liver cleanse and it's probably best to try that on a slightly healthy liver.

Another reason that this sounds like a super awesome idea right about now is because I think it will save me a ton of money. I spend way too much at the bar month to month. Having that extra cash in pocket could pay for so many fun things, like a visit to the gynecologist!

I'm betting after a good amount of time passes and the liver cleanse is complete, I will be one hell of a lightweight. One drink will do me just fine. Oh yeah, I imagine I might actually lose some weight as well. That would be nice.

So, good luck body. This will be weird but we can do it.

(Picture of me passed out in the woods with beer in hand. Obviously missing all the fun.)

Fun, I like it when people do crazy health things! Maybe I'll give up my insane love affair with hot Cheetos in solidarity. It keeps turning my fingers neon red & freaking out my kids.

Hooray for your liver and I guess your uterus too.

It's good to take a break from alcohol or bad foods or other unhealthy things from time to time. If for no other reason just to prove to ourselves that we can do it.

What a quitter... :P

How strange though... I too am going dry for a little bit, for different reasons, but same outcome never the less...

You do know we'll be expecting pictures of your lightweight skinny ass when this is all over with... don't you? ;P

i think that when it is hot out alcohol can hit your system harder, you know? Sort of like your body just wants some WATER dangit....

Good for you! There is nothing wrong with giving up the sauce for awhile. I know there is one time I should have given it up and didn't and now I am allergic and can only have about one drink before I break out in hives. Not fun - always follow the do's and don't's of drugs ;)

Welcome to the club. Sometimes it's just not worth all the cost and aggravation that comes after the fun.

So, you started this on my son's 13th birthday. Good thing, too, because 13-year-olds shouldn't be drinking! ;)
I'm an on-again, off-again consumer of the adult beverages (it depends on how strictly I am following a diet plan) but there are times when it is best to provide me with a glass in my hand. Camping and family get-togethers (with my side of the family) come to mind...
So I am curious. How's it going?
