Sick Of It

I'm getting tired. I feel like all the political talk just brings out the bad in people and we are finding out what sets us apart more than what brings us together. It is too bad that it ends up that way. We are missing a huge learning opportunity by battling over slander and smear campaigns. We are missing the point. Can't we just focus on challenges, opportunities, and the things that are important? I guess we can't. That breaks my heart more than anything.

I have been reading all the usual blogs that I stalk. I just have not done a whole lot of commenting. Maybe if something inspiring finds its way into my brain I will be able to play in blog land again. Until then...

People are just so touchy. Some people claim that everyone is just "so passionate" about their candidate. I don't think so. I think people are just struggling to defend their candidate so they get overly sensitive to any "attack" and take it as if it's directed at them and not the candidate himself/herself.

I'm done with politics for the most part. Sure, I might make fun of ALL of them on occasion, but the rest of the crap? Pfffttt!

I wouldn't mind hearing more about the election, but I'd like it from a neutral view.

And we all know that ain't gonna happen.

Spoken like a true Rodney King.

Where the Hell is that guy these days anyway? Is he still taking beatings?

Just curious.

Well put and so true. I have gotten to the point where i don't turn on my T.V. unless I have something interesting to watch.

Sad to say, but your right about the learning opportunity being wasted on this "smut fest" there is so much being lost in all this shit kicking and blame game.

I can only hope that my daughter (her 1st time ever voting) is getting more out of this then what I am.

She and I talk often regarding this being her 1st time voting for a president and she is quite excited, I just hope this don't turn her off in the future.

You can talk to me any time about any thing - I think those any's are not supposed to be separate ...

See we could talk about that

I actually blogged about this... okay, so didn't everyone? But, no really... I want to know what we all have in common, and to have real discussions. There's a video link that might make you happy again. Come by and see: http://kcinnova.wordpress.com/2008/09/19/personal-politics/

You know that video below, the one that BBC didn't get (LOL).

It's like that not just among different countries, but people inside countries too.

All we are is groupings of hairless monkee's throwing stones at each other, just like we were 2 million years ago.

The stakes are higher now is all.

I feel the same. We all have issues and reasons why we choose one candidate or the other.

Although, I don't even look at is as choosing candidates. It's choosing issues and voting on who we are hoping will push them through.

I am sure I often come across as uneducated in the political society -- because, I know what is important to me but don't have energy to waste on what isn't.

I read other bloggies who put their ideas and opinions out there. I make a sny little joke at times -- but not about the issues but more behaviour, LOL!

Generally, though? I try to keep my personal peace to myself. I'm here to bloggie. To have a nice time and to remind myself that not everyone in the world is a freak or creep. Bloggie world has renewed some of my faith in people.

When I'm really concerned about it all? I take it to pillow with my prayers. And, then I take it with me to the voting booth.

That's how I do my part.

Don't quit reading or commenting? [Lurk me? I'm giving away a prize!!! ;-) ]

I think the fact that your elections take so bloody long is part of the problem. The candidates and parties are just as tired of singing and dancing to the same old tune, as the public is of hearing it.

In August, our PM called for an election to be held in October. That's it, it will be over and done with. I don't know that we have a better system of voting, but it certainly is faster.

Just try following boring Canadian elections.

And speaking of bringing the good and bad out in people...
Yesterday while we were at a concert a friend of mine had his car window smashed out so some junkie could sell his i-pod for dope.
This morning I dropped fiddy bucks at the grocery store, realized an hour later, and (not liking my chances but figuring what the hell), returned to see if anyone had turned it in.
I couldn't believe it. A lady found it in the Mall parking lot- not even inside the store! And left it at the service desk.
I feel a lot better about people!
My friend not so much...

I know what you mean. I get into spells where I just get so TIRED of hearing the whining, nagging, and high-pitched arguments.

As Dora from Finding Nemo says..."just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."

I've been around long enough to have learned this happens every 4 years. Not a one of them ever say anything that tells me they are really going to do anything. We really need a strong 3rd or 4th party. I don't like any of them.
