Pet Names: A Rant

Don't call me Honey Bear. Don't call me Cutie or Lovey or Dovey or Sweetie. It drives me completely insane! Maybe you think I'm kidding or maybe you think I'm putting up an act. I guarantee you I'm not. When you are trying to turn me on and you mention Baby Cakes I think of babies and that is no good. Any words that can be associated with children should not be associated with me. Binkie, Frou Frou, Pookie, Peachy Pie... Save these names for your offspring.

Now you might be wondering what is acceptable. Not just for me, of course, but for someone with my same distaste for this type of language. Well, it depends on the personality of course. I decided to look up a nick name generator for lovers. You enter your first and last name then it gives you a suggestion. Mine was "Wicked Hot". I think that is perfect. It makes me feel good about myself and I don't feel like a child. Any other name I put in brought up child like crap so GOOD LUCK! Other acceptable names would be along the lines of Beautiful, Charming, Tiger, Killer, you get the idea.

Now I don't mean to offend the people that are into this sort of thing because you certainly make up the majority. I just feel that it is important to let people know not everyone feels that way. Some people *ahem ME ahem* had enough of the cute crap when they were little. Maybe I'll get back into it when I'm starting to shrivel up again but until then, ADULT names only PLEASE!

Okay, I'll just stick with calling you my gorgeous, sexy as hell woman of my dreams. That work? ;-)

OK Beautiful I get it!

Bic and I have the same issue here in TN. Way to many people you've never met or never seen call you honey or sugar. I know their just being kind and they more than likely don't even know their saying it, it's just an ending to a greeting. But we don't like it!

Bic hates way more than me though.

Go get'm, you charming tiger you! he he he

I won't tell you what it generated for my name, but the last part of it was baby nuts.

now THAT is insulting!

I refer to my wife as my lovely wife, for casual conversation I call her hon, or babe. When I'm feeling "adult" I call her hot stuff or hotness, or yummy britches. :)

I had a bf that called me "little one" and "button".
Ugh...it obviously did not last.

Yeah, "bunny" was a deal breaker for me, in one relationship. I found that insulting.

I LOVE that site! Here is my preferred pet name: Loveheart Red-hot-Lush Lips! That is me, spot on. ;)

I have always felt that people that use generic names like honey or sweetie, can't be bothered to remember my name - I know this, because I find myself doing it on occasion. Then I think, where the hell did that come from? I suppose when speaking to a stranger calling someone "honey" is better than "hey lady", but I usually try to avoid speaking to people ;)

OMG?? Did I ever call you pet names? I don't think I did but my mind is turning to mush in my ole age:)

Jay My Love, you can call me anything you want ;)

Micky T- I can already tell this sweet talk with proper name use is getting to my good side. I know what you mean with regional over use of honey and sugar. How did that became a popular replacement of Sir or Mam?

Mike- Baby Nuts? So far my experience with the generator has been right on. You will have to post a photo to prove otherwise.

G-Man- Yummy Britches? That's a good one as long as the neighbors don't start using it!

Michelle- You should have started calling parts of him "Little One" and "Button". I think he would have got the point then.

Fiwa- Damn, you got a hot name! Bunny I don't understand though. What is sexy about a bunny? I would be insulted too.

Reb- Ha, I avoid speaking to people too. It's just easier that way.

TLJ- You called me hun a lot and I called you Babe. That's all I can think of though. Your pet name is perfect. Throwing in the "two shoes" really spices it up!

Dana- I've been begging you to for weeks now Treasure Chest.
