Are You the Favorite Person of Anybody?

I stumbled upon this beautiful short film today and thought it was something that had to be shared.

At first glance of the title I couldn't help but think what a dumb question it was. People that lead full, rich lives shouldn't have just one favorite person so hopefully you and the people you know wouldn't have reason to say yes. Then you watch the film and realize in a few words they say so much more. I hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

50 Blog Posts!

Today is my 50th post. For some reason I decided that today I would like to answer the questions from Inside the Actors Studio. James Lipton asks the same 10 questions to each person he interviews on the show. Mind you, my answers could change by tomorrow but for now this is what I feel:
1. What is your favorite word? Perspective ... Doodle was using it a lot awhile ago and I'm stealing it. I find this word can be used to help you with or through anything.
2. What is your least favorite word? Twiddle ... it just creeps me out
3. What turns you on [creatively, spiritually or emotionally]? Honestly so many things do and I'm lucky that way but new/clever ideas get me excited and that can be regarding anything.
4. What turns you off? Close-Mindedness These people are hopeless.
5. What sound or noise do you love? A heavy downpour with a far off thunderstorm.
6. What sound or noise do you hate? People whistling in public places. I'll smack you!
7. What is your favorite curse word? Damn in any way you can find to use it. It feels good.
8. What profession other than your own would you like to attempt? Psychiatry. Good thing I don't because I could cause a lot of damage.
9. What profession would you not like to do? Being a flight attendant would suck. You are always in a small confined place with bitching, ill, and/or dirty people. Hmm... sounds like my office.
10. If Heaven exists, what would you like to hear God say when you arrive at the Pearly Gates? A nod in the direction of the open bar would suffice. See you all there!

Neglect and continued Manic speak

I love this city to an extent that is unnatural and I know many people feel the same way. We came here because we knew we had to. It's a beautiful siren calling to us from wherever we were and we knew we had no choice. Not everyone can understand that but I know some of you do. odle. NYC is a place where anything you are looking for is available to you. Set your mind to a new idea and it's all right there waiting for you to find it. The thought of how expansive this is I can not put into words because I would ramble for hours and that is cruel. Anyway, the point I'm trying to get to is that I've been neglecting my city. I don't take advantage of the opportunities anymore. I have not been introducing myself to new places, scenes, and people like I used to. I'm getting lazy. I'm too young to be lazy and wasting my time. So, that is going to change starting tonight. If anybody else want to come along for the ride you just let me know. We have to do it now before the famed city burnout happens and we no longer find it exciting. Then we will all move to different parts of the nation where we never see each other. It's inevitable because none of us are actually crazy. We just like being exposed to it. Unless, of course, I get rich and have two homes. Then one will be in New York. Don't laugh. It could happen in New York!

In an Up-Swing

Life is good my friends. Take in that Autumn-is-a-comin' air and let it hit the bottom of your lungs. You're alive damnit and even though most of us are bitterly stuck in an office all freakin day we still have options. There are things to learn, people to meet, revelations, revolutions, conversations, dinners, projects, creations, and by Jebus I'm going to live it! Anybody else feel like doing something? Anything? Anytime? I'm up for it all. I feel talkative and I'm looking for some inspiration. Join me in my manic state!

P.S. Darla, where did you go?

I Believe

Today I received junk mail from a relative that is always forwarding videos and jokes mixed in with pictures of her grandson and other family updates. The trick to this is that I always have to read her e-mails so I don't miss anything good. Today I got an inspirational message. Each belief below was written over a photo of a baby. Babies don't belong on my blog but for me the same effect is found through trees. I chose this tree because I feel it reflects me... a little.

I Believe... That our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

I Believe... That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe... That just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to, doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

I Believe... That it's taking me a long time to become the person I want to be.

I Believe... That you should always leave loved ones with loving words. It may be the last time you see them.

I Believe... That either you control your attitude or it controls you.

I Believe... That money is a lousy way of keeping score.

I Believe... That sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I Believe... That it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I Believe... That no matter how bad your heart is broken, the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I Believe... That the people you care about most in life are taken from you much too soon.

I Believe... That life is more precious than money will ever be.

I must say that some of these statements don't make complete sense to me and possibly need more clarification but then again, that isn't the point. I hope by sharing this that someone else will use it the way I did and at least think about a situation in their life where these simple words might help. Or maybe you will just enjoy an interesting tree photo.

A revolution

A post card on PostSecret hit home... once again. Something always does I suppose and that is why I love checking the site every week. This week I saw a card about the possibility of a peaceful revolution.

This popped out at me because it is something I have been pondering a lot lately. Is it possible? If enough people stand up will it work? Originally there were two e-mail responses posted but they have since been removed. I'm reposting:

For encouragement on a peaceful revolution, read about the Filipino Revolution of 1986. Four days, no bloodshed and the existing government was still overturned.

In Portugal we had, in 1974, a peaceful revolution. It is known as "the 25th of April" or "The Carnation Revolution".

It's worth knowing that there is something we can do. Who is with me? How do we start?

Oh Jerry.....

Quick post today.

I read here that Jerry Lewis made an anti-gay slur during the 18th hour of his annual telethon for Muscular Dystrophy. Everybody got upset and started yelling at the poor guy. COME ON PEOPLE! I don't think he meant it like that. He is 80 something and you know the love of my life Dino was giving it to him back in the day when they first got together. Hell, he wrote the book Dean & Me (a true love story). I think he was so overcome with emotion and exhaustion that he was thinking back on the good old days. I know I would!

Four Years... Four F'n Years...

Can you guess what I am talking about? Today marks my 4th anniversary of the day I sold my soul to corporate america. I told some of my coworkers and they just stare at me with pity. Wow. I'm scared of what this means for me and my future. I'm only 24 years old you know. What in the hell am I doing? Can someone please explain to me how to collect unemployment? Just in case I get fired?
