I have friends from many walks of life. Different ages, races, religions, and species make up my facebook friend page. Even with this being the case I've come to realize that the majority of my close friends are older than me. Why? Recently I keep finding myself in situations with friends of friends that are in their early twenties. I was trying to figure out why I usually like the people but they can quickly get on my nerves. Am I just a crotchety, cranky old person? Am I ageist? Does their youth offend me? Now that I'm so aware of it I'm sure people must feel this way about me as well. It makes me overly conscious of the level of maturity I'm projecting even while hanging out at the bar. How can this be when I'm still young?
Last night I was out with, well, a bunch of people throughout the course of the night. Earlier on and up until about 1am I was with some of my favorite people alive. I probably drank a little too much vodka and whisky at the drag show before moving on the the late night group but that can't be the whole reason I'm cranky and old. I met up with a person that is becoming a good friend and two younger girls that I don't know very well but usually enjoy. I had a very good time when the numbers were low. We played a little pool and danced a bit. Then we went to an all night cafe where another two young girls (friends of our friends) worked and suddenly I was annoyed. Too much youth. Annoying conversation. I got bitchy. At the time I didn't think it was an age thing. I just thought everyone was obnoxious. It was later when I was trying to explain my discomfort to my boyfriend that he pointed out I'm older than them and therefore, don't enjoy the same "fun" things. I still don't know what that comment means. So basically this is the first time in my life where I was told to my face that I'm not young anymore. It sucked. I have found a way to deal with it though! I have decided to get rid of all people in my life that know and associate with people younger than me. That way I am eternally youthful and never have to worry about this again. I think this also means I have to get rid of my boyfriend. He shouldn't have called me old.
Okay, I won't be that extreme but thanks for letting me vent.

Back For A Spin
I've spent the morning trying to inspire myself and found a little something I would like to share.
Tim Minchin is an interesting guy. He is very talented at forcing me to think. Today I realized that spending the vast majority of my time in my mind might not be a good thing. Or should I be spending more time there? Hmmm...
One last thing before I go....Happy Birthday Dez!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I know I'm a bit early but I probably won't be back in time.

My resolutions for 2009 (to be promptly forgotten by 1:05 am) are the following:
1) Find work in life that makes me happy.
2) Stop having seizures...somehow.
3) Replace the lack of drinking with even more sex. (Casey, this is your job. Oh, and apologies to any of Casey's family members that read this and may be traumatized.)
4) Meet a blogger. Anyone want to help me out with this one?
5) Continue having a wonderful life full of great family, friends, and bloggers that brighten it up.

Palin Quotes
- “I always wanted to be an explorer, but - it seemed I was doomed to be nothing more than a very silly person.”
- “I mistrust total competence. I've always felt life is a series of small disasters we try to get through.”
- “Armageddon is not around the corner. This is only what the people of violence want us to believe. The complexity and diversity of the world is the hope for the future.”
- “There is barely a country in the world where you will be completely safe.”
- “Contrary to what the politicians and religious leaders would like us to believe, the world won't be made safer by creating barriers between people.”
- “I know that we shall meet problems along the way, but I'd far rather see for myself what's going on in the world outside, than rely on newspapers, television, politicians and religious leaders to tell me what I should be thinking.”

Show Some Love Day

Today, in honor of this hallmark holiday, I feel like giving out some blogentines. It makes me feel like I’m participating is society. So, this blogentine is for anyone reading and I also want to give a special note to a few bloggers. Here goes:
New Found Loves:
R.E.H. @ Ramblings of a Madman One of the perfect people for a blogentine because of his Rubicon Heart. R.E.H.'s posts are so honest and open I feel like I know him. Then I remember I don't know his name and only recently realized he lives in another country. Take a gander at his writing if you dare. I warn you, it's addictive.
Jay @ Cynical Bastard Obviously I originally visited this blog because of the title. I mean, come on, it spoke to me. Then Jay took me on a drive to McDonald's and I was hooked. To be honest, I was hooked long before that drive because he is damn funny.
Tink @ Pickled Beef. She is sporktastic. Sporktastic in a really cool and creative sort of way. She shares a lot of hilarious conversations that will make your day and she also hosts Weekly Words Challenge which I always intend to participate in but never do.
FuriousBall: I don't think this guy knows I'm stalking him yet. I frequent this blog because he always posts the best links to random oddities he finds on the web. There is no real lead into what the link is to so it is a great surprise when it ends up being cat nipple pasties or something equally as bizarre.
Returning Loves:
Doodle and Darla finally came back to blog world! I missed you. *single tear* I know you both have new jobs and intend to work during the day but you can't just get me addicted to blogging and then leave me here!
Blooming Loves:
NYCeCe, It's about time you started posting more frequently. You started in July and managed an amazing four posts in 2007. I'm thrilled to see you have already doubled that this year. Your writing always amazes me. So post it more often k? thanks.
And last but not least, YOU. I’m giving this Blogentine to you with a sassy wink and maybe a little blow of a kiss *xx*. See, there it is. Have a lovely day!
